Summer Camp Program

GRANDMA’S HOUSE & WEST OAKS PRIVATE SCHOOL OFFER A FANTASTIC SUMMER CAMP PROGRAM FOR SCHOOL AGE CHILDREN 5 – 12 YEARS OLD.

Each day your child will dive into an exciting world of art and crafts, music and cooking activities. They will also take fun and educational trips 1 to 2 times a week to places that include: museums, laser-tag, bowling, skating, Skeeter’s games, movies, nearby parks and splash pads, and so much more.

Cooking Projects

The cooking projects are designed to introduce new and healthy foods to the children’s diets including as many vegetables and herbs that can be obtained from our gardens. Each year the children are introduced to and make basil pesto, chimichurri sauce and tomatillos sauces using the basil, parsley and peppers that they have personally picked from the garden. The children will also learn how to make bread, ice cream and pasta from scratch.

Additionally, we seek out unusual fruits and vegetables from Fiesta and other nearby markets to introduce them to the children and to get them to try foods that they may have never eaten previously.

Art Projects

The children also work on longer term, detailed art projects that take days/weeks to complete and often result in an art show at the end of the summer for the parents to attend. This artwork is then displayed throughout the school until the following summer.
